I started teaching spinning at my local agricultural college teaching evening classes. I have built up a good reputation travelling to guilds delivering workshops and talks around the U.K.

When I first started teaching I specialised in exotics fibres and fine spinning but as the years have gone by I have found myself in demand to deliver workshops on the basics as well, problem solving workshops are very popular particularly with spinners who have been doing it for a little while and have been unable to get beyond a base level.

I used to enter spinning competitions with much success particularly the "Longest Thread" competitions in Tasmania but recently have not done anything on this front, there are not many spinning competitions being run these days and I get most of my pleasure from teaching others.

We have just embarked on this exciting new venture which has brought me full circle back to Scotland.
